IMPORTANT SEASON UPDATE!

Dear Families,

 

As many of you may have heard on Monday night the TCYFL officially has decided to cancel the upcoming Fall 2020 tackle football season due to concerns related to COVID-19 (see press release).  Although this decision is a bitter pill for all involved it once again reminds us that we are living in very uncertain times.  I want to personally thank all the families, volunteers (Coaches, Team Moms), our sponsors, that made a commitment to Thunder Football and Cheer for this year.  We certainly appreciate your loyalty and faith in our program and we look forward to that same commitment in 2021.

 

I would also like to thank the Thunder Board for all of their efforts to have this program ready to go if the season would have continued.  As you can imagine, this is no small task in a normal year let alone one with a pandemic involved. 

 

With that said, our board met last night, we all strongly hold a true commitment to Woodstock Thunder, and began to think of other options because other organizations might begin to follow suit.  We also know the benefits of keeping the teams and players together and the profound impact youth sports has on a child’s social and emotional well-being. 

 

That is why we are excited to announce the opportunity to offer a flag season for all levels of the organization this Fall. The season would go from September to November, allowing families to continue on with any sport season they are in now.  This also allows youth cheerleading to continue their program as well. A win, win for all programs!

Refunds:

If you already picked up equipment, please see information below on dates to return tackle equipment and receive your deposit check back. Full refunds(minus service fee) or partial refunds( if the child(ren) chooses flag, minus service fee) for registration will be considered once we have the equipment. 

Equipment Return:

The return of equipment will be on July 18th from 8am -10 am at the U Haul location and Monday, July 20th at U Haul location from 6-7:30 pm.  If neither of these dates, work please email Aaron Krejci at [email protected]  to set up a time to drop-off your child(ren) equipment.
